William C. Waldman Jr., 96, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Williamsport on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Bill was born in Limestone Twp. on Sept. 27, 1928, a son of the late William C. Sr. and Martha C. (Fischer) Waldman. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School, and a Veteran of the US Air Force. Bill retired as a production manager from the former Alcan Cable in 1990. He was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church where he volunteered at the spaghetti dinner, the St. Anthony Festival and as an usher and lector, he continued to volunteer as a lector and altar server at St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, the former Lily Sammarco on December 4, 2022.
He is survived by their children; Martha (Joseph P.) Borraccini of Downingtown, William C. Waldman III of Burbank, CA, and Mary (Brent) Jenkins of McLean, VA; grandchildren, Joseph W. Borraccini, William, Brent, Elena, and Annamarie Jenkins; sisters Lena Anderson and Teresa Staib and a brother, Herman Joseph (Vera) Waldman; and sister-in-law, Pauline E. (Fry) Waldman.
In addition to Bill's parents and wife Lily, he was preceded in death by brothers, Cletus G. (Frances) Waldman Sr., Emil (Wilhelmina) Waldman, John Waldman, and Vincent (June) Waldman; Sister Cletus Waldman S.C.C.; and brothers-in-law, Dean Anderson and Dave Staib.
The family will receive friends and family at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Rd., Williamsport Pa 17702 with his pastor, Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggest Masses be offered in Bill's name.
