On the 5th day of April 2023, in the cool of the morning, the Angels of Silence came into the presence of Willie Terry Williams and with chilly fingers of peace sealed his lips. His earthly labors now done, it was time for him to go home to be with the Master
Willie Terry Williams, also affectionately known as Dub, was born June 30,1930, on the King & Anderson plantation in Coahoma County, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
He was the sixth son and fifteenth child (out of sixteen) of Rev. John Wesley and Maggie Williams. In his early twenties he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior while living in Frenchman's Bayou, Arkansas. It was also in Frenchman's Bayou where he met and married his wife Addie Rowe and to this union were born five children: Theresa Williams King, Lee Otis Williams, Roscoe Williams, Sylvester Williams, and Eugene (Gene) Williams.
In his younger days Willie loved to dance, and was known for cutting a rug like James Brown. He enjoyed watching old westerns, especially the show Have Gun-Will Travel, and listening to blues music. Willie loved spending time with his family and friends laughing and joking, and always had a quick-witted remark question. Willie was loved by all who knew him!
He is preceded in death by his wife Addie Rowe Williams, his parents Rev. John Westley Williams and Maggie (Moore) Williams, his son Roscoe Williams, nine his sisters, and four of his brothers.
Willie leaves to mourn and cherish his precious memories his children: daughter Theresa Williams King, sons Lee Otis Williams (wife Tia), Sylvester Williams and Eugene Williams (wife Margaret); his brother Dennis Williams; his sister Thelma Hawkins Perkins; his Grandchildren: David Lee Williams, Dawn Monque Williams, Roschell Williams, Kelly Williams, LaRonda Williams, Sylvester Williams Jr., LaMart Hobbs
