William "Bill" Robert Williams, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on April 28, 1945, in Kokomo, Indiana, to his loving parents, the late Lowell and Norma Williams.
Bill's early life in Kokomo laid the foundation for his unwavering character and work ethic. After attending college, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. His service was a testament to his dedication and bravery, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bill embarked on a successful career as a salesman and high school basketball coach where his charismatic personality and genuine care for others led to many lasting relationships, both professional and personal.
Bill was a devoted husband to his wife of 50 years, Mary L. Williams. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and many cherished memories. Bill was a loving father to Seth Williams and the late Rhys Williams. His role as a grandfather to Peyton Williams, Brianna Williams, Aiden Rizzuto, Kolby Williams, and Kane Garbarini was one of his greatest joys. He took immense pride in his grandchildren's accomplishments and was their steadfast supporter. Bill also leaves behind his cousins, Diane Williams and Tony Williams, and a host of extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved greatly.
Bill's enjoyed watching basketball and was an avid Saints and LSU fan. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his knowledge of the game, and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow fans.
Those who knew Bill would describe him as loving-a word that encapsulates his essence. His warmth, generosity, and kindness touched many lives. His legacy of love and dedication to his family and friends will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.
