Mrs. Sparks was born October 7, 1926 in Ballground, Georgia, daughter of the late Luther Hitt and Pearl Collett Hitt. She was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, housewife and member of Ophir Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Sparks; children, Charles Sparks, Jerry Sparks, Linda Jane Sparks; daughter-in-law, Laverne Sparks; sons-in-law, Ruel Davis and Roy Elrod;
brothers, Roy Hitt, Junior Hitt, Glenn Hitt, Toy Hitt, Calvin Hitt.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Davis, Helen Smith (Raymond), Phyllis Sparks; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sosebee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nicky Gravitt and Pastor Chip Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Ophir Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Sparks, Bryan Sparks, Jeff Davis, Rodney Elrod, Michael Elrod, Darin Gardner.

Oh how I loved this women! She was all ways the same when I saw her. She helped me get my Surger going, and I appreciated that. She was so smart in sewing and in her flowers! I'm so glad I got to know her when I worked at Karen Sports Wear. She was a quite person and worked real hard. She was always dressed to a tee! always welcome me in her home and it was kept so clean. I remember goingto pick apples from her tree, they were the best. She got right out there to help me and Phyllis pick them up. When Phyllis and I went to see her in the Nursing home, she was so glad to see us. I will miss her and her sweet smile. I hope I can be more like her and appreciate her sweet soul; She will be missed although
she didn't know anyone any more. She still loved her visitors. May her family be blessed and carry on her presents at Opher Baptist Church. A close friend Doris Jones Treadwell
