Wilven Hayes Obituary
Henderson - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Henderson Bible Church for Wilven Hayes, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
A visitation will take place at Henderson Bible Church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time.
Pastor Sherman Soileau will officiate at the funeral service. Burial will follow at Henderson Bible Church Cemetery.
Wilven was born on January 24, 1934, in Lafayette. Wilven was a respected member of the Henderson community, where he worked as a commercial fisherman and was the proud owner and operator of Hayes Fishery. Alongside his wife, he was also a founding member of Henderson Bible Church, where he dedicated his time and resources to helping others in need.
A man known for his generosity and kind spirit, Wilven was always ready to donate his time and money to support those around him. His legacy of compassion and service will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Christy (Gerald) Long, Wallace (Sheila) Hayes, Donald (Dana) Hayes, Linda Bergeron, Debra Hebert and Alice Hayes; 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hayes; parents, Thompson and Ophelia Martin Hayes; step-son, Lester Bergeron; grandchildren, Charles Hebert and Gabriel Boudreaux; and his siblings, Michael Hayes, Thelma Dupuis, Fred Hayes, Lionel Hayes, Elaine Ray, Thompson Hayes, Jr. and Jeffery Hayes.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
