Wyvonne Ward, a beloved member of the Morton, Mississippi community, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on March 12, 1965, in Mississippi, Wyvonne lived a life dedicated to her family, her career, and her faith.
Wyvonne was known for her role as a supervisor at Unipress, where her leadership and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Beyond her professional endeavors, she was a devoted member of Pleasant Gift MB Church in Morton, MS, contributing to her community and nurturing her spiritual growth.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Ward, Sr., of Morton, MS; her mother, Mary Lloyd, also of Morton; her son, Anton Gammage (Krista), and her daughter, Alexia Jones (Marshall), both of Morton, MS; and her bonus son, Richard Ward, Jr., of Peoria, IL. Wyvonne was cherished by her siblings, including her brother, Otis Lloyd, and her sister, Delia Walker, both of Morton, MS, as well as her bonus sister, Dessie Lloyd. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother to four grandchildren: Parris Gammage, Avona Gammage, Alyssa Gammage, and Taegen Gammage.
Wyvonne was preceded in death by her father, Otis Lloyd, and her sister, Debra Gilbert, both of whom she held dearly in her heart.
Services to celebrate Wyvonne's life will be held in the coming days. A visitation will take place on March 1, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. This will be followed by a funeral service at Pleasant Gift MB Church on March 2, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Her warm spirit, unwavering dedication, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
