Yvonne Lorraine Donegan

Yvonne Lorraine (Young) Donegan of Corning, NY, passed away on Monday, May 12th, 2025. Yvonne, or affectionately known as "Da", was loved by her family and many dear friends, both in Corning and at Keuka Lake. She will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, love of life and family, and her deep devotion to her loving husband, Joe.
Yvonne was born on January 28, 1942, in Corning, NY to Leland and Ivy Ione (Jacobs) Young. She received her education in the Corning School District, graduating from Corning Free Academy. Yvonne married the love of her life, Joe Donegan, on July 6, 1963 in St. Mary's Church in Corning.
Yvonne proudly dedicated over 50 years to Dobromil Accounting in Corning, where she formed lasting friendships and was a valued member of the team. A devoted and enthusiastic sports mom, Yvonne could often be found in the stands cheering on her sons - especially during lacrosse games, where her spirited support never went unnoticed. Yvonne was blessed with three grandchildren and continued to show her unwavering support and love in their lives. She encouraged and celebrated their accomplishments with pride and joy. Yvonne had a gift for bringing joy and laughter to everyone around her. Whether she was spinning embellished tales about her table tennis talents, dancing to Elvis records in the basement, passionately debating the rules of Hasenpfeffer, dressing up in hilariously frightening Halloween costumes, or jumping off the dock with her trusty pool noodle, Da embraced life with a free spirit and a full heart.
Yvonne is survived by her sons: Shawn (Michele) Donegan and Casey (Lisa) Donegan; grandchildren: Abigail (Stephen) Ruggles, Stephanie (Michael) Lodge, and Cale (Jada) Donegan; great-grandchild: Clancey Joseph Ruggles; sister-in-law: Patrice Hall; brother-in-law: Danny (Bonnie) Donegan; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Joseph Donegan; parents, Leland and Ivy Ione (Jacobs) Young; brother, Ivan Young; sister-in-law, Sandy Young; brother-in-law, John Hall; grandson, Clancey Gerald Donegan; nephew, Scott Young; and her mother and father-in-law, Francis Gerald and Emma (Erdhardt) Donegan.
Calling Hours for Yvonne will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning, on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Barnard Cemetery in Corning.
