Zachary Owen Black

Zachary Owen Black, 18, of Cambridge, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022. He was born July 18, 2004, in Columbus, Ohio, a son to Andrew and Melissa (Hardy) Black.
He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Melissa, a sister, Caitlyn, his fiancée, Jenna, and his grandparents Kitty, Edith, and Rockie of Cambridge. Also left to cherish his memory are his uncle and aunts Rick, Sarah, and Skyler, his cousins, Caleb, Ayden, Weston, Adrienah, and Ellianah, and many more friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Bruce, Pappy James, Aunt Rochell, and Uncle Rockie of Cambridge.
He was a 2022 graduate of Cambridge High School where he was an avid member of the Marching and Concert bands. He worked at Wendy's and enjoyed doing yard work and was always helping his neighbors. He was excited to pursue his passion by attending the Nascar Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Zachary loved so many and was loved by so many more. He had an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. He had a deep love for his family and friends and cherished the time they would spend together laughing and playing jokes on each other. He also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends. He was a bright light in a dark world and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, from 11:00AM-1:00PM, with services to immediately follow. Interment will be held at Northwood Cemetery.
