Zachary Ross, aged 34, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at his home in Conroe, TX. Zach was born on March 22nd, 1991, in Patchogue, New York. Zach moved to Klein TX, where he was a graduate of Klein High School, class of 2009. Zach was married to Julissa Ross on October 31st, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Zach was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ross. He is survived by his wife, his father, his brother and sister-in-law, sister and several nieces and nephew whom he loved dearly.
Zach was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many as Zach knew no strangers. Zach chose a career of service as a firefighter, where he started as a volunteer for the Cypress Creek Fire Dept and served from June of 2010 to January of 2016. Zach would then join the Little York Fire Department in June of 2024 as a career firefighter assigned to Station 83 on the B Shift. Zach had a servant's heart in which he gave unconditionally to his department and to his community. Zachary's passion for service to others was evident in the way he carried himself with pride and professionalism. In February 2025, Zach was a recipient of the Medal of Valor in which he was recognized for the heroic act of removing a victim from a burning home and using his quick thinking to take his own breathing apparatus face mask, placing it on the victim which provided the victim with much needed fresh air. It was Zach's courage and quick actions that contributed to the survival of the victim.
He was very passionate about the fire service in every way imaginable. He was an exemplary fireman, the kind that you would want by your side in a time of need. Zachary was one of the kindest people on this earth, he always wore a smile on his face and his heart on his sleeve; there was never a dull moment with Zachary. Throughout his fire career he remained involved in any way possible, including being a member of the Honor Guard with the Cypress Creek Fire Department. Zach was always one of the first ones ready to train and grow and was even a member of the Little York Firefighter Combat Challenge Team. Zach was a "fireman's firefighter" and was always there to support the team and help where he could. Zach embodied the core values and mission statement of the Little York Fire Department.
Zach truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as spending time with his wife, his pets, his nieces and nephews, and enjoying the company of his friends. Zachary had the ability to touch people's hearts and impact their lives in a remarkable way with his kindness and positivity. Zach will live on through all those whose life he has impacted and those who loved him dearly. Zach will be greatly missed and will hold a place in everyone's hearts forever.
