Mary Lee Thomas Tunson

Mary Lee Thomas Tunson passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 83. She was the second oldest child of eleven to the union of Ann Elizabeth Thomas and the late Eloise Thomas, Sr. She was a native of Clinton Louisiana and a resident of Metairie Louisiana. She was a faithful member of Hill of Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Alan K. Creecy, Sr. Mary Lee Thomas Tunson was a faithful and loyal employee over 48 years to Mr. & Mrs. Charles W. Schmidt, Mr. & Mrs. Charles D. Marshall, Dr. & and Mrs. Luis Balart, Mrs. Robert L. Suggs, Mrs. Sherrill McCausland, Katherine Von Gohren Graf, and Mr. & Mrs. John Herrington. She leaves to cherish her memories her five children, Judy Brisco, Burnell (Shawanda) Tunson, Jr., Rodney (Alicia) Tunson, Frederick Tunson and Debbie (Walter) Perrier. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Maeola (Horace) Allen, Rhoda (the late George) Small, Patricia Ponds and Linda Lewis; 5 brothers, Eloise Thomas Jr., Cleveland (Devora) Thomas, Sr., Johnny (Shirley) Campbell, Sr., Rev. Louis (Kaye) Thomas Sr., and Rudolph Campbell Sr.; 1 sister-in-law Dorothy Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, son Kirk Tunson, brother Robert Thomas Sr. and son-in-law Richard Brisco. Relatives, friends of the family, members and officers of Hill of Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Pipe Works Demolition Company, King Tutt Trucking Company, S and S Solutions, Main Post Office on Loyola Ave., New Orleans, LA, Louisiana High School Athletic Association and The Law Office of Lewis-Crawford are invited to attend the viewing on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Richardson Funeral Home, 11112 Jefferson Hwy., River Ridge, LA. Funeral Service is at 10:00 a.m. Due to covid-19 the funeral service is limited. Face masks and social distance is required as mandated by the State of Louisiana. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery & Mausoleum, Metairie, LA. Professional services are entrusted to Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA.
