Robert Egana Sr.

1995 - 2022

Mr. Robert Egana, Sr was born January 11, 1995, to Ms. Josetta Egana and Mr. Aaron Marks. He was the fiancé of Ms. Jerlicia Mercadel, and the father of four beautiful children: Robert, Jr., Adam, Ruben, and Autumn. Robert was a good father, and worked hard at various jobs, the latest being Folgers. He loved his family, and he loved God above all. For years the family attended Israel United in Christ Church. His members affectionately called him Bro. Ruben. One of Robert's main hobbies was to play chess, and anyone who wanted a lesson was welcome to one. He spent lots of time with family and friends, especially with Jae and the kids, each and every day. Robert was loved by everyone who knew him or got the chance to meet him. Robert went to be with the Lord after eighteen days in a coma at UMC. He entered eternal rest at the age of 27 years old on June 18, 2022. Robert was the brother of: Amanda, Jo'Nai, and Joe'Al Egana. He was the brother-in-law of: Jerrell, Jerode, Jermiah, Jerron, and Shemaiah Mercadel. Son-in-law of Felicia Mercadel; Grandson of Ms. Mary Marks, and the late Mrs. Audrey Egana, and Raymond H. Egana, Sr.; Nephew of Ms. Deborah Williams, Mrs. Louise (Michael, Sr.) Broussard, Samantha E. (Gregory, Sr.) Robinson, Raymond H. (Dinah) Egana, Jr. and Mr. John I. (Gina) Egana; Three nieces, Amaya, and Faith Egana, Selena; One nephew, Elijah Kirk; Cousin, Jamie Williams; and a host of relatives and friends, and the Marks family of Cleveland, OH. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Dr. Kern, the staff at UMC, and friends and family who contributed during this time. Robert's Homegoing Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Majestic Mortuary Service, 1833 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans 70113. Visitation will begin at 9am at the funeral home. Interment will be held following the services at Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Ave, New Orleans 70119.
