Arthur RISPOLI Obituary

RISPOLI Arthur V. Sr., 77, of Ridgewood died on June 24, 2009 at The Valley Hospital. Born in Brooklyn he has resided in Ridgewood since 1969. He served his country during the Korean War in the Army and was attached to the Army Military Honor Guard Unit. He was a graduate of St. Francis College and was awarded his Masters Degree from Rutgers University. Before his retirement in 1998 he was a mathematics teacher at Ben Franklin Junior High School and then Ridgewood High School. Art was the Bowling coach at Ridgewood High School. He was a parishioner of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, and a member of N.J.E.A, B.C.E.A. (former President) B.C.R.E.A. (former President) The Ridgewood Hobbyists and The American Legion of Ridgewood. Survivors include his beloved wife Norma (nee Zabbo) Rispoli of Ridgewood, his loving children, Deborah Gattoni and husband William of Wyckoff, Risa Rispoli and husband Tom Mettberg of Leesburg, VA., Arthur Rispoli, Jr. of Queen Creek AZ and David Rispoli and wife Karen of Ridgewood. There is one cherished brother Vincent surviving. Also surviving are five adoring grandchildren, SherriLee, William, Michael, Anthony and John. Funeral Mass Friday 10:45 AM at Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at CC Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 785 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901 or Bergen County Ret. Mr. Rispoli was a great man. I had him as a teacher at RHS and was one of my favorite teachers and learned alot from him. He will be missed.
