Irene L. Hill

Irene L. Hill, age 75 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017. She was born October 30, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to parents Bernice and Herbert Carlson who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sister Margarite "Rick" Lindley.

Mrs. Hill was a 1961 graduate of Thomas Edison High School and attended classes at TCU. Irene and her husband Doug were Sonic Franchisees. The two of them touched the lives of many people in the community in which they started their career with Sonic Industries.

Irene loved entertaining family and friends, cooking, singing, playing slot machines, and pontoon boat rides with her family as well as a good glass of wine.

She was stricken with the horrible diseases of Parkinson's and Dementia and had to leave her home with her husband for an assisted living. Which she handled with her usual grace and was a joy to all of those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Pace Stancil Funeral Home 303 E. Crockett St Cleveland, Texas. Another visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218. Her funeral will start at 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park and burial will immediately follow.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Doug Hill; daughters, Stephanie Collins and her husband Jim, Michele Wyatt and her husband Jeff, and Kim Johnson; grandchildren, Megan Burton, Carly Burton, Thomas Wyatt, Andrew Johnson and Emily Johnson, great grandchild, Parker Mill-ican; sister, Mary Lindsley; brother, John Carlson. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
