John Milton Thompson was born September 12, 1937 in Malakoff, Texas to Milton Charles Thompson & Sadie Mae Hopkins Thompson He had three children: Vickie Lynn Fancy and her husband, William; Carla Thompson Woodard, and her husband, Gabe Bitolas, and M. Keith Thompson. Grandchildren: Ashley Fancy, Jake Woodard, Blake Fancy, and Coby Bitolas. One great granddaughter, Riley Jane Woodard.
John joined the Army while in high school. He worked for Hydril corporation 26 years until retirement. John loved the outdoors, especially bird hunting with his favorite dog Sarge. He loved listening to old country music. A pair of starched jeans, cowboy boots and a pearl snap shirt was his favorite outfit. Above all, he loved his family. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. His sense of humor and quick wit will always be remembered. We will always love and miss him.
He is also survived by sister, Dorothy Durant, brother, Donald Thompson and wife Thelma, brother, Caroll Thompson and wife Linda, brother Jack Lakey and wife Darlene.
The family received visitors on Monday March 24, 2014 from 6-8 at Darst Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 10:30 am Tuesday March 25, 2014 at Triumph Church
