Joyce Miller Obituary

Joyce "Elnona" Bolin Miller died on February 10, 2018 in Houston. She was born on November 28, 1932 in Randolph, TX to Ola (Hilley) and Jack Bolin. Elnona was a 3rd generation Texan and learned early on that with a strong determination and true grit, you can accomplish anything. She "tried" to pass that on to her kids...

Elnona was raised in Texas and moved to East Tennessee in her early twenties where she met and married Philip Miller. Together they raised their combined seven children and enjoyed countless weekends exploring the Smokey Mountains. They moved back to Texas in 1994 and lived in Houston and the Sea Isle area of Galveston. Elnona loved living on the canal in Sea Isle and said it was like being on vacation all the time.

Elnona is survived by Philip Miller, her husband of 55 years, her children − Dane (Ellie) Duggan, Dedra (Bob) Kalmbach, Denise Duggan, Billy (Townya) Miller, Hugh Miller and Dixon (Sue) Miller as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren − Kela (Russell) McDonald, Amy Kalmbach, Julia Duggan, Olivia Miller, Mollie Miller, Alex Miller, Heather (Will) Reaves, Clear Menser, Jonas McDonald and Miller McDonald. She was preceded in death by her son, Dan Miller.

If you would like to make a donation in Elnona's honor, please give to Blue Sky Therapeutic Riding & Respite https://blueskytexas.org/ . She loved the difference it made in the life of her great-niece (Paige Southard) and all the special needs kids and young adults who ride horses and gain life skills there every week.
