Lawrence Albritton Obituary

Lawrence Allen (Larry) Albritton, 90, of Conroe, Texas is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born April 6, 1930 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Aubrey Allen and Gladys Shaner Albritton. Larry is survived by daughters, Terri Smith and husband Ken and Traci Merdian and husband John; grandchildren Ashlea Reneau and husband Wes, Jesse Berwick and wife Brittney, Michelle Taylor and husband Russell and Drew Merdian; great grandchildren, Waylon Berwick and Owen Reneau. Upon graduation from Henderson State College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas Larry served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He helped found a Manufacturers Agency (Albritton-Groves, Inc.) which grew to be a successful business in the hardware and industrial field from which he retired after 43 years. After retirement, Larry became a Real Estate Broker and started Albritton Realty during which time he became an independent inspector for First Financial Bank. During Larry's time in

Conroe, he served in many civic endeavors including active church activities, Little League Baseball and President of the Tiger Touchdown Club (1960). Larry also served as a member of the Panorama City Council and Mayor. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the fellowship and comradery during the years of playing with friends. He also held the distinction of Club Champion at both the Conroe Country Club and Panorama Golf Club. Larry served as Elder in Conroe Bible Church during the early years of the church. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church at the time of death. The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice and longtime caregiver, Lecia Trevino.

There will be a visitation on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, Texas beginning at 10:00am with Danny Box officiating.

Larry helped me get to know Christ. He was my first mentor and one of three men who set my life on its course as a young college student and new believer.
