Mildred Brown Obituary

Mildred Elizabeth (Libby) Brown passed away November 28, 2020 in Webster, TX. She was born June 18, 1928 near Atlanta, TX. She was the daughter of Clyde W. Mayfield & Ethlene Simmons. There were three siblings who have preceded her in death. Pat Mayfield, Patsy Dingle & Sue Frazier.

Libby was preceded in death by her late husband Lowell Brown & their youngest son David Edwin Brown, & daughter in law Silvia Eliana Drufuka.

Surviving family members are; son, William Brown, Clear Lake City, TX. Granddaughters Alia & Kya Brown, North Palm Beach, FL.

Nieces - Cindy Heckerd of Seabrook, TX., Melissa Martinez & Lynn Tharp, Houston, TX. Nephew - Danny Morrow, La Porte, TX.

Libby was a graduate of University of Houston with degrees in Bachelor of Education & Masters of Arts degrees.

Libby studied and excelled in various forms of arts in her life. She trained in many art formats, including oil, charcoal, watercolor and studying pottery in Italy, teaching her skills at Hawaii Baptist University, University of Houston and La Porte High School. Travels were her passion and much time was spent in the Holy Lands of Israel, Middle East and Mediterranean regions. Fascination with anything & everything took her to all parts of the globe. She has a resume of friends on many continents and a wealth of stories that would humble many world travelers.

Also a licensed pilot who was quite an accomplished aviatrix.

Most dear to her heart was her love of God. She was a deacon at University Baptist Church in Clear Lake. She spent many years volunteering to minister in the women's prison system through her art education. Counting through stacks of letters of gratitude from ladies whom were touched by her kind, non judgmental and endearing mannerism gives light to her Christian spirit.

Travel, adventure, enlightenment, education and above all, sharing and caring were her foremost qualities. Libby was the exemplary of humility and humble living. Truly she is missed by many and celebrated in Heaven now. She ran the race well.
