Patrick "Pat" Murphy, age 92 passed away on October 18 at a friend's home in Kingwood, Texas. Pat had recovered from his house being destroyed by Hurricane Harvey, making no complaints but, then slipped quietly away to his heavenly home. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on February 10, 1925, the son of Henry Fred (Pat) Murphy and Ione (Young) Murphy. Pat graduated from Stillwater High School in 1942 and attended Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) for one year, then enlisted in the navy and qualified for the prestigious Naval World War II college training program know as V-12. He was sent to Oklahoma University where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and was commissioned as an Ensign. He was a member of Kappa Sigma social fraternity and Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Tau honorary engineering fraternities. He served in the Philippine area on a Patrol Craft ship. He was released from active duty in 1946. He was employed by Stanolind Pipeline Co., (later the Amoco Pipeline) in Tulsa, OK, in April 1947. He worked in Tulsa, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Wichita Kansas then in a corporate office in Chicago. He worked for Amoco 40 years before he retired. Pat enjoyed being a family man and married (Dorthy) Maxine Fuller Robinson in 1952. They had two children Clifford, (Sherry) and Nancy. He enjoyed four grandchildren and had many great grandchildren as well as nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces and many cousins. After many happy years of marriage, sadly, in 1993 his wife Maxine passed away. During High School Patrick had enjoyed many friendships although he was shy with girls. A popular girl that he had never had the courage to ask out was Betty Tourtellotte. Pat and Betty did not reconnect until after both of their spouses had passed away. In 1994 Pat married Betty Tourtellotte Sale and lived with her in Kingwood, Texas. They loved to travel and had recently enjoyed a Northern European cruise. He loved to swim, go to yoga class, play golf, garden, collect stamps and doing all the jobs of a handyman/decorator. Pat was an enthusiastic traveler, visiting all 50 states, most of Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He was an excellent photographer. Pat was predeceased by his parents, brother Grant and sister Phyllis, (Clark) and niece Kathleen. He was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Kingwood. A Memorial Service for Pat was held at the 1st Presbyterian church in Kingwood, TX on Monday, October 30th at noon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Huron Valley Humane Society or to the Memorial Fund of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Kingwood are welcome.

My deepest condolences to the family for your loss. Psalms 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And of because of special mightiness they are 80 years. Very special indeed!*

Cliff: What a nice conclusion to your dad's earthly life with his grave site so near you. I learned early-on that one never forgets the dates their parents pass. I'm sure he was proud of you! Who wouldn't be, my friend. God Bless! Hebrews 11:1 Dale
