SPARTANBURG - Peter Douglas Braun, age 43 of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Peter was born February 9, 1972 in Buffalo, New York.
Peter was first and foremost a loving and devoted husband and father. He touched many lives as a dedicated emergency room physician and educator at Spartanburg Regional. He had an adventurous and fun loving spirit, which he shared with his wife, Cynthia and their six children including scuba diving, snow skiing, camping, motorcycles, woodworking and so many more. Peter received a BS from the University of St Thomas and graduated from UT Medical School in Houston, TX. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Thomas and Carol Braun of Kingwood, TX. Peter is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cole Braun of 19 years and their six children Hayden (16), Caitlyn (15), Joshua (14), Zachary (11), Ethan (8) and Alexander (3); brother Christopher Braun, wife, Kara, and their 4 children; sisters Lesley Braun and Janelle Braun; brother Thomas Braun Jr., wife, Raquel; and Grandmother, Rose Braun of Tampa, Florida.
There will be a funeral service on May 4, 2015 at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where they are members, 161 N Dean St, Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive condolences at a reception to be held in the parish center following the funeral.
