Ross Dennis Provost, Jr., age 90 of Nederland, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born February 16, 1928 in East Hampton, Massachusetts to parents Nora Agnes Houle and Ross Dennis Provost, Sr. who preceded him in death along with his wife, Una Mae Provost; daughter, Shirley Foreman Barnes; second wife, Pat Posey Provost; brother, Donald Provost and sister, Theresa Holmes. Ross was a long-time member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Texas and was proud of the ministry he gave through their food pantry. He joined the Army in November, 1945 and went on to serve his country for nearly 15 years. In his spare time Ross enjoyed woodworking and charity.
Survivors include his son-in-law, Keith Barnes; brothers, Alfred, Gerald and Carl Provost; sisters, Marie Frenya and Myrtle Haikkila; grandchildren, Phillip Bruce Green and Leisha Mae Tinsley; great-grandchildren, Bobby Nace and wife Ashley, and Heath Nace; great great-grandson, Peyton Nace; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas. For those desiring donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
