Konrad Huntley Obituary
1960 - 2022

Konrad Huntley, devoted husband and father, son of Gloria and Peter Huntley, died March 12, 2022 at home in San Francisco from pancreatic cancer.
Konrad's life was an example of a life well lived and even after his diagnosis, he continued his philosophy of focusing on the good things in his life and not wasting time on what he could not control. He was spending his early-retirement years doing much of what he loved: sailing, sipping lattes while reading the latest Economist, researching potential business ventures, sharing good meals and conversation with family and friends, walking his dog Cali, and volunteering with a couple of local charities.
Konrad's life plans were shaped as a young adult by his work in many countries and his passion for traveling. He farmed in a Kibbutz in Israel, poured pints in England, picked vegetables in Greece, cleaned boat hulls on the Italian coast, and tried various jobs in Germany. These jobs and adventures inspired him to return to college at Humboldt State, UC Irvine (BS in Economics with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and magna cum laude) and UCLA (masters in Economics and MBA). After completing his studies, he returned to Europe to work in banking and to enjoy the many historical and cultural offerings. Konrad retired early, something he was very proud of, and then he and his family returned to the US and settled in San Francisco.
Konrad's passing leaves a deep well of sadness in his friends and family. He will be remembered by his loved ones as a remarkable, gentle, and kind person, always inspiring love, laughter and joy with his wit and warm smile; and remembered by his wife as a romantic, whimsical man with the utmost integrity, and a treasured companion.
Konrad is survived by his wife Allyson, daughter Klara, father Peter (Jenny), sister Sonia (Bob), cousins, niece, and nephews. If you wish to make a donation in Konrad's honor, two of his favorite charities were St. Anthony's Foundation SF (stanthonysf.org) and Amnesty International.
