Dawn E. Gerth, 54, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on August 15, 2021 at Flagler Hospital. She was born and raised in Danville, Illinois. While working as a certified pharmacy technician at Hooks Drugs she met the love of her life, Lennard. The couple married in 1986 and shortly moved to St. Augustine in 1992, where they raised their family. For 20 years she worked alongside her husband as an office manager for his lawn care business. She was a member of Moultrie Baptist church and has worked as the church secretary for the past 4 years. Dawn will be remembered for her red pen and was affectionately known as the "Grammar Queen". She enjoyed bowling but more than anything she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years Lennard Gerth; children, Christopher Gerth (Tracy Wilson), Brandon Cleary (Robin), Amanda Steybe (Ramon); grandchildren, Bayleigh and Ashton Steybe; mother, Lou Collins; brothers, Dave Collins and Steve Collins (Lynn) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Collins and her beloved cat, Juliette.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Moultrie Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Weldon officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10:30 am.
