Kenneth McCutcheon Obituary

Kenneth Lee "Kenny" McCutcheon, age 50, of St. Augustine, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2018 at his residence in Georgetown. Born to Buran and Anita McCutcheon in Jasper, Alabama, Kenny spent his earliest years in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and moved to St. Augustine at the age of 9. He attended St. Johns County public schools and graduated from St. Augustine High School with the class of 1986 and went on to attend St. Johns River Community College. He worked as a Bartender and Cook in the restaurant industry for many years. Many will remember Kenny from his years at Barnacle Bills and Capps on the Water. Kenny briefly owned and operated a Landscaping business and worked as a groundskeeper at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. In his spare time, he loved to fish, and he was very protective of "his" favorite spot on the Bridge of Lions. Kenny was also passionate about following local sports. He did some announcing work of local games broadcasted on the radio, and was a frequent caller on sports talk radio under the name "Ken-man" where he would display his vast knowledge of sports with an edge of sarcastic humor. Ken was blessed to be from, or had lived in, places with unbelievably good sports teams and it became one of the joys of his life. He was a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan and loved New England Sports. He was Catholic from his youth, and attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church. He was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Meg Connor McCutcheon of St. Augustine; sisters, Janice Shepard, (Pete), of North Attleboro, Massachusetts and Pam McCutcheon, (Melissa) of Boston, MA; brothers, Larry McCutcheon (Debbie) of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Chuck McCutcheon (Sandy) of St. Augustine, Bruce McCutcheon (Robin) of Georgetown, FL, Glen McCutcheon (Angi) of Hastings, and Michael McCutcheon (Shelly) of St. Augustine; and many nephews and
nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. Following the service, the celebration of Kenny's life will continue with a Reception at his brother Mike's home, 2466 Hydrangea Street, St. Augustine, FL. 32080.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
