Pineville - A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Patsy Rayner was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Alexandria with Reverend Bill Gearheard officiating. Burial followed in Tioga Cemetery, Tioga, LA, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

On January 5, 2019, a beautiful Saturday evening, the soul of Patsy Rayner slipped peacefully from her earthly body at the tender age of 67, following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her children as she ascended to Heaven to meet her Lord and her loved ones who preceded her in death.

Patsy was a native of Pineville, LA, where she lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Pineville High School and Northwestern State University. She was a member of the National Education Association and had worked for the Rapides Parish School Board, retiring after 20 years of service.

She was known for a life of teaching, fishing, and selling mobile homes with her husband, Rodney, and for her love of cooking, growing flowers, and spending time with her family. She loved her Church, St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, of which she was a member. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Vandersypen Rayner, of Pineville; and her husband, Louie "Rodney" Henry, of Pineville.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Delrie, of Pineville and Ronald "Dwayne" Delrie, Jr. and his wife, Ashley, of Baton Rouge; granddaughter, Caroline "C.C." Coates Delrie, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Elmer "Gene" Rayner, of Pineville and James "Jim" Rayner, of Alexandria; and sisters, Jeanette McRight, of Baton Rouge, Deborah Zundel, of Baton Rouge, and Jo Ann Rayner, of Santa Clarita, CA.

Pallbearers honored to serve included Manuel Henry, Dwain Foster, Kenneth Andrews, Jacob McTire, Glenn LaCour, Craig Pearce, Bradley Andrews and Nathan Hutchison.

The family wishes to thank all of her precious caregivers who served her so graciously in her time of need.
