John was a dear friend and valued neighbor in Gahanna. He was always interested in vital and always made good suggestions, and had an attentive ear to everything that was going on around him. He was always part of the answer, and never part of the problem. He will be missed by our neighborhood and the Columbus community in general. He was an active participant always and always thoughtful and kind. With love to Cathi and James from Teckie and Don Shackelford.

Catherine, James, Jeff, Nan,
My deepest heartfelt condolences to you upon learning of the passing of my beloved friend, neighbor, and classmate John. I am so very fortunate to have
known and shared so many treasured times and experiences with John, since we first met, believe it or not at the age of four. John was imbued with a wonderful array of kindness, equanimity, and subtle pinpoint sense of humor.
He was a living embodiment of calm, cool, and collected. I will miss him dearly, but always remember and appreciate who he truly is and will always reside in our hearts and minds.
Sincerely,
Jeff Devenow
