WILLIAMS

John D.

John D. Williams, Sr. of Toledo, 61, born November 25, 1953, passed away on January 1, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He attended St. James Catholic grade school, graduated from Macomber High School in 1971 and later attended the University of Toledo. John served in the Navy from 1972 to 1976. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Maumee Eagles.

John worked for over 25 years at Container Graphics Corp. He loved bowling (having several perfect games), playing cards, dart ball and especially enjoyed playing softball at Club 16 for various teams. He was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES. Getting together with his sons, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and all the Buckeye fans in the Buckeye Room to cheer his team on is something everyone enjoyed and will keep with them always.

John leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Kathleen; parents, John and Norma Williams; children, John Jr., Mark and Kevin; granddaughter, Chelsey; sisters, Linda Fravel and Barb (David) Miller. Also surviving are his niece, Tracy (Ryan) Black; nephews, Jeff Miller, Bill Day, and Jim Day; great-nieces and nephews, Ava, Addison, Asher Black and Brayden and Logan Miller; brothers-in-law, Bill (Toni) Day and Jim (Heidi) Day.

Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Monday, January 5, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave. Interment will be private.
