Frank Marcinkiewicz Obituary

STAFFORD, VA - Frank J. Marcinkiewicz, 88, beloved husband and father, was called home on Monday June 27th following a brief illness. Residing with his wife Marjorie (Mellor) in Stafford, VA, for the previous two years, he was a Woonsocket native and long time resid- ent before retiring to Dunedin, FL. Born September 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Jan and Feliksa (Stukowski) Marcinkiewicz and was predeceased by brothers Chester, John, Stanley, and Lucien (Sonny) and sisters Helen (Boczar), Janet, and Lillian.
Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by daughters Mary Ann of Arlington MA, Carol (Venice) of Louisville, KY, Judith (Paul) of Sedalia, MO and sons Thomas of Stafford, VA, and William of Natick, MA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Frank graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1945 and served in the Navy aboard the USS Lejeune until 1948. After working as a shipper at Joan Plush Co., he became a postal employee and retired as Supervisor of Collection and Delivery at the Woonsocket Post Office in 1985.
Frank enjoyed playing many sports, including being a member of the Woonsocket YMCA "over-30" National Championship and runner-up volley ball teams of the 1960s. He enjoyed watching his Patriots and most of all he dearly loved his family. Frank was a long time member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Woonsocket and was deeply involved in the parish.
A memorial service will be held on July 8 in Virginia and his funeral and burial will take place in Woonsocket, RI, on a date to be determined.
