Walter J. Krochmal

CUMBERLAND - Walter J. Krochmal 85 passed away Friday August 19, 2022 at Tockwotton on the Waterfront in East Providence, RI He was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen (Bessette) Krochmal and the late Patricia (Riding) Krochmal.

Born in Pawtucket, RI he was a son of the late Walter T. and Stephanie B. (Szeuczuk) Krochmal. He lived in East Providence, RI for the past year and was formerly of Cumberland, RI.

Before retiring Walter was a Pharmacist and co-owned along with the late Anthony J. Soave the former National Drug Pharmacy of Pawtucket, RI.

He was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School now (Tolman High School) class of 1955. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy class of 1959 and was a member of Kappa Psi fraternity.

He was a member of the Rhode Island Pharmaceutical Association. As a youth Walter belonged to St. Joseph's Church Boy Scout Troop #3 of Central Falls, RI. He also served in the Rhode Island National Guard from1959 to 1965 mustering out of the Guard as a SP 6.

Beside his wife Walter also leaves two loving daughters Lynn M. Lemos and her husband Dr. Lionel Lemos Jr. of Cumberland, RI, and Pamela J. Falkins and her husband Robert Falkins of Wilton, NH, one step daughter Mary Beth Myers and her husband Edmund Myers Esq. of Exeter, NH, two step sons John J. Kelley III and his wife Barbara Kelley of Lincoln, RI and Michael J. Kelley and his wife Kara Kelley of Barrington, RI. He also leaves eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many brother and sister in-laws.

The funeral for Mr. Krochmal will be held Saturday August 27, 2022 from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls, RI at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Historic St. Joseph's Church 1303 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Calling hours Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. COVID-19 PRE-CAUTIONS ARE REQUESTED.
