Lawrence Odle

MATOAKA – Lawrence Odle, 81, of Matoaka, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia, surrounded by those he loved. Born May 11, 1944, Lawrence lived a full life rooted in hard work and deep family bonds. He spent his early career working in the coal mines and later as a dedicated car salesman. Lawrence's friendly nature and good humor made him well-known and respected in the community. A true enthusiast of old cars and classic Westerns, Lawrence found joy in the simple pleasures- especially the company of his beloved pug, Bandit. But above all, Lawrence cherished his family. They were his pride, his purpose, and the heart of everything he did. Lawrence was the son of the late Charlie Elvin Odle and Kathleen Harris Odle. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Johnson Odle; his sister, Edna Jean McKinney; and his son-in-law, Vernon Nelson Smith. Those left to cherish his memory included his devoted wife, Sandra Odle; sister, Margie Mills; children, Kathy Smith, Lawrence "Buddy" Odle and Pollie Ellison, Randy Odle, Patricia Roberts, Jerry K. Golden, Carrie Asbury and William Asbury, and Angela Justice; grandchildren, Jason Odle and Callie O'Dell, Christopher Smith, Brandon Odle, and Ashley Weeks, Linda Smith, Dakota Miller, Alex and Shyann Dunn, Dylan Golden, Kaileigh Golden, Jayden Roberts, Colton Roberts and Everleigh Sewer; great-grandchildren, Coalson Odle, Tori Odle, Kinsley Miller, and Axel Dunn; and several nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Lawrence's legacy is one of love and strength. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memory of his laughter, warmth, and unwavering love will continue to live on in all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Kenneth Abram, officiating. Interment will follow at Odle Family Cemetery in Matoaka.
