Vernetta, I am so sad to hear of Fulton's death. He was truly a star in the Parrott household and we loved all the pranks he played on Mother. They were a pair, weren't they?
Fulton was a kind, funny and supportive friend to all and we are lucky to have known him.
I am sending you and your family love and prayers, knowing that the warm memories you have of Fulton will wrap you in a soft blanket of comfort.

Dear Vernetta, Gosh Darn what sad news from Sam Bodily. I am so sorry! I wish I could be there for the funeral but am not able to do so. I'll try and come out in the spring and we can visit. You and Fulton had had a wonderful life and there are good friends in the area to help you adjust to being a 'widow'. You will be in my thoughts tomorrow. Ruth K. Bailey will be there and hopefully she will give you a hug from me.

Love to you and your boys and their family.

Vernetta, Earl and JP,

Words cannot begin to express the loss we all feel with Mr. Marshall's passing. Having worked with him side by side for 23 years, I have so many wonderful tales - from apple dumplings, halloween costumes, his pranks he loved to play, the refrigerator in the teacher's lounge full of Ben & Jerry's, serving food in the cafeteria when they were short handed and a multitude of other things.
But most of all he was genuine. He cared about others, he knew how to treat people and always put others first. I learned so much from him. He had such an impact on my life and my family. For that I will be eternally grateful. We were all blessed to know him and to learn from his example. He was indeed a good and faithful servant to all. I will miss him everyday but my heart is warmed by the wonderful memories and the lessons I learned. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful man with all of us. He will be greatly missed.

What an outstanding life Brother Marshall lived, both publicly and privately. He leaves a wonderful legacy for his children and grandchildren to follow. The sadness of separation in this life is swallowed up in the reality of the resurrection thanks to our savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless you with comfort, Sister Marshall.

Sister Marshall,
It was such a treat serving with Fulton when he was a stake clerk. He was always so kind and helpful in all he did. I know he will be missed greatly by you and the family. I know from experience how a long, difficult illness impacts a spouse. I pray that the Lord will speed your healing and impart to you of his Tender Mercies during the coming weeks and months. I hope I can visit with you some when I return from Utah in a couple weeks. I am sorry not to be able to attend his services. God bless you.

Fulton and I were the closest of friends across the years. He and I did a lot of traveling together to basketball games, ACC tournaments, and to numerous National Elementary School Principals' conventions. We were in each other's homes countless times. I will feel the pains of this loss for a long time to come. The Albemarle County School System has lost one of the finest school principals in its history. My love, thoughts, and prayers are with his lovely family in this their time of bereavement.
