Phyllis J. Paul, age 90, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 9:52 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Swiss Village in Berne.

Phyllis was born in Adams County, Indiana, on December 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Henry and Edna (Daily) Schaadt. Raised on her parents’ farm, she learned the value of hard work and deep commitment, a pride she carried throughout her life.

She was united in marriage to Richard E. “Dick” Paul on April 22, 1956, at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Berne. They shared 69 wonderful years until Dick preceded her in death just months earlier, on April 16, 2025.

Phyllis was a devoted homemaker and a faithful partner to her husband on the family farm, which had been passed down from her parents. She took great pride in continuing the family tradition. A woman of simple and enduring pleasures, Phyllis loved watching birds, tending to her gardening and her beautiful flowers. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Berne.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Edward Paul; grandson, Derek Lee Paul; and a brother, Tommy Schaadt.

Phyllis is survived by her two sons: Alan (Belinda) Paul of Geneva, IN, and Randy (Jodie Uggen) Paul of Berne, IN. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Jaime Herman, and three cherished great-grandchildren, Avery, Paul, and Nora Herman.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating. Burial will follow at MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Visitation will be held at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 3-6 p.m., and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Preferred Memorials may be made in Phyllis’s honor to Victory Junction Children’s Camp or Hemophilia of Indiana.

Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Homes, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel of Berne, Indiana.
