PEKIN - W. Eileen Beemer, 84, of Pekin passed away at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the home of her brother in Pekin. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, where visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Best, Wayne  
WYOMING - Wayne E. Best, 80, of rural Wyoming passed away at 1:39 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria. Wayne was born July 21, 1934, in Wyoming, the son of Edward I. and Dorothy M. (Dixon) Best. He married Helen Grebner on Oct. 9, 1965, in Metamora. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Connie (Jay) Andrews of rural Chillicothe and Kurtis (Christine) Best of rural Wyoming; and four grandchildren, Jimmy and Lily Andrews, and Jacob and Lauren Best. Wayne graduated from Wyoming High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 91. Wayne worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed working on his farm and served as treasurer for Stringtown Cemetery. He attended St. Dominic Catholic Church in Wyoming. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Wyoming. Father Don Henderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at the funeral home in Wyoming. Burial will be in Stringtown Cemetery, rural Wyoming, with military honors accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to Stringtown Cemetery Operational Funds, Wyoming American Legion Post 91 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Blunier, Sheryl Rude  
METAMORA - Sheryl Rude Blunier, 69, of Metamora passed away at 10:09 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, in Peoria. She was born to LeRoy and Gladys Carlson on Aug. 6, 1945, in Peoria, Ill. She married Larry F. Rude (deceased) in 1965. She later married Herbert H. Blunier on January 21, 1995. He survives. Also surviving are sons, Dennis (Debra) Rude of Metamora and Jeff (Kelli) Rude of Washington; daughter, Kim Rude of Metamora; grandchildren, Craig, Carrie, Renee and Rachel; brother, Floyd (Gerry) Carlson; and sister, Gloria (Jerry) Painter. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Sidney and Marilyn Webster. Sheryl graduated from Peoria High School and attended St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, Minn. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church where she had been the secretary since 1985. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Fellowship Bible Church, 4006 N. Sterling Ave., Peoria. Services will be at the church at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Canton woman was 100 CANTON - Marilea F. Boyce, 100, of Canton died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour before. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery in rural Fairview.

Brinkley, Myra  
MORTON - Myra Jo Brinkley, 78, of Morton passed away at 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born July 23, 1936, in Carrier Mills, Ill. She was raised by her parents, Charles and Berneda (Jamerson) McGill. She married Robie G. Brinkley Sr. on June 23, 1952, in Marion, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1991. She also was preceded by her parents and her father, Charles Riddle. Surviving are three daughters, Connie (Thomas) Stroud of East Peoria, Gay Lynne Brinkley of Morton and Janice (Sven) Kjelsrud of Livingston, Mont.; one son, Robie G. Brinkley Jr. of Morton; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie (Jerry) Turner, Mary (Bill) Gaines and Wilma (Lonnie) Dutton; and her aunt, Jenny (Don) Gowins. Myra and her husband owned and operated Brinkley Machine Co. before retiring. She was a founder and former owner of Formaloy Co. She loved gardening and raising tomatoes. She also loved to travel, fish and be with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Local visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Ludwig Mortuary in Morton. Additional visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Cox & Son Funeral Home, 209 S. Jarrell St., Ridgway, Ill. Further visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Cox & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Leamington Cemetery in Junction, Ill. Brubaker, Dorothy  
PEORIA - Dorothy M. Brubaker, 94, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at her residence. She was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Farmington, Ill., to Walter and Jeanette Davies Vincent. She married H. Allen Brubaker on Nov. 28, 1943, in Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Thomas A. Brubaker of Peoria, Ill., and Frederick A. (Barbara) Brubaker Sr. of Peoria, Ill.; grandson Frederick A. (Bing) Brubaker Jr. of Essex Junction, Vt.; and great-grandaughter Beatrice T. Brubaker. Dorothy was a member of First Federated Church in Peoria, Ill., where she served as a deacon for many years. Cremation has been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at her church on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation starting at 9 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice in her name. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., Pekin/Peoria, is assisting the family with arrangements. Burdette, Herbert  
WASHINGTON - Herbert E. Burdette, 87, of Washington passed away at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. Herb was born on Sept. 2, 1927, in Peoria County to Elmer and Olive (Hunt) Burdette. He married Hildamae McDaniel in Peoria on Sept. 28, 1947. She died on Dec. 15, 2000, in Peoria. He later married Norma (McDaniel Newland) Mixon on Nov. 14, 2007, in Peoria. Norma survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cheri (Tony) Rodgers and Marla (Sam) Reeder, both of Washington; four sisters, Verna Jones of Hanna City, Marjorie Miller of South Carolina, Eunice (Phil) Stockdell of Peoria and Velma Peters of Bartonville; one brother, Lloyd (Grace) Burdette of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Mike and Ashley; three stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Herb was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy, Ina and Ruby; and one brother, Arnold. Herb had been a plumber in the Washington and Peoria areas for many years, last working for Dick Rich Plumbing. He was an Army veteran and had served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington and had been on the church bowling team many years. Herb also had been a member of Plumbers Local 63, Washington Kiwanis Club and Kennel Lake Sportsman Club. Herb loved to fish in his spare time. Funeral services for Herb will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at Mason-White Funeral Home, with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be either directed to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
