Dixie was born on October 5, 1941, in Red Dragon, West Virginia, to the late William and Rosa (Blaylock) Lewis and married Harold Owen on March 6, 1964, in Orrville. Harold died on November 25, 2020.
She graduated from Rittman High School in 1960 and owned her own house keeping business for 30 + years.
Dixie was a member of North Main Street Church of Christ in Orrville and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, bowling, bird watching, antiquing, painting, and especially spending time at the beach with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Paula (Dana) Carpenter of Wooster, Rebecca (Bill) Caldwell of Dallas, TX, and Anna (Scott Wildenheim) Brewer of Chesterland; 5 grandchildren, Brittany (Shannon), Ben, Will, Max Henry, and Terry (Quinn); 3 great-grandchildren, Lukas, Kyla, and Ezra; sister, Doris Wiseman of Orrville; brother, Charles (Sandie) Lewis of Apple Creek; sister-in-law, Dorcas Lewis of Orrville; and her faithful dog, Dean who was always by her side.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, William Paul Lewis, and Lyle Grear Lewis.
There will be no services and cremation will take place.
Memorials may be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691, www.lifecarehospice.org or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
