Elizabeth Clark was born on January 31, 1956, the first child of Barbara Hall and Geroge Bromley Clark. Elizabeth grew up in Rolla, Missouri with her six younger siblings who were born in quick succession. She graduated from Rolla High School and attended Brigham Young University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in math. This accomplishment displays the diversity of her interests. She loved to read and learn and had an extensive collection of books. She later acquired a Master of Arts degree in English from University of Colorado at Denver.
Her love for learning extended to facilitating the education of others. She held administrative or teaching positions with the following institutions: Red Rocks Institute, Community College of Denver, Westwood College, Arapahoe Community College, Front Range Community College, Red Rocks Community College, CCC Online, and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Elizabeth spent much of her adult life in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where she cared for her aging parents. She liked to cook and shared her skills with family. She loved dogs and had started a hobby with making stained glass art. She was an accomplished musician with a well-trained singing voice and had directed church choirs. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had also been a teacher, and she had attended the temple.
Elizabeth Clark passed away on May 10, 2024, in Independence, Missouri after an extended stay in a skilled nursing facility, during which her care was under the watchful supervision of her brother David and his wife Jolene. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, David Zappitello. She is survived by her six siblings: Margaret Zappitello, George H. Clark, Melinda (Warren) Pressler, John (Melinda) Clark, David (Jolene) Clark, and Richard (Cynthia) Clark. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
