Esther B Darrington

Esther Darrington passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2023. She was born on the family farm near Underwood and was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs. She was an office manager for a retail credit company in Omaha for much of her career.

In her personal life, she was a caregiver, first to her mother for many years and then, in later life, helping her oldest sister stay independent in her own home. Esther was a founding member of the Community of Christ church in Council Bluffs and volunteered countless hours working in the church's thrift store. She enjoyed traveling with friends throughout the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Izetta Darrington, sisters Joyce Glesmann and Vera Beamer, and brother Marvin Darrington. She is survived by her brother Byron Darrington and his wife Janis, along with six nephews and their families.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Community of Christ on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Final resting place in Grange Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community of Christ Church in Council Bluffs, IA.
