Gerald Ray Hamblin

Gerald Ray Hamblin, 61, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on April 21, 1962 to Alvin Ray Hamblin and Emma Skeen Hamblin. He was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Church of Houston.
Gerald was a "jack of all trades" and worked many different jobs throughout his life. He had worked last for the City of Tupelo in maintenance with the water department before becoming disabled. Gerald loved music and was a talented musician. He enjoyed playing guitar, especially in church services. He was dedicated to his church and his church family. He also enjoyed fishing, especially with his son, Andrew. Gerald was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves behind his son, Andrew Hamblin of Una; his mother, Emma Hamblin of Houston; his sisters, Rhonda Knox (Mario Chavez) of Houlka, Lisa Price (Bruce) of Houston, and Tracey Dotson (Damon) of Houston; his brother, Butch Skeen (Cheryl) of Montgomery, TX; his uncle, Charlie Hamblin of Houston; his aunt, Janice McNight (Danny) of Pontotoc; and a host of nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Ray Hamblin and his niece, Kristen Knox.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2:00 at Southern Funeral Home with Brother Frankie Martin and Brother Charlie Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 on Friday, May 12 at Southern Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations toward funeral expenses.
