Judith Marie Carroll

Judith Barone Carroll, 63, died on October 15, 2022, at home from Anorexia Nervosa, with her beloved husband by her side. Judy was born on December 9, 1958, in Burlington to Amy and John Barone. She graduated Rice Memorial High School in 1976 and began her journey to Maine where she attended Saint Joseph's College to study and receive her RN and BSN. Upon receiving her RN, Judy worked many years at Maine Medical Center in Portland and University of Vermont Medical Center in the Intensive Care Units. After many years in the hospital environment, she decided to start a new chapter and entered the private medical sector as office nurse and eventually moved to the Visiting Nurse Association for a short time. later in her career she worked private duty nursing as a self-employed caregiver which became her passion.
Judy was extremely motivated living life to the fullest; she was a runner (loved the local 5K's), swimmer, taught aerobics, practiced Yoga and loved being outdoors cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and especially doing her vegetable garden. She also loved hanging out with her dogs Humphrey and Marley. She was a member of the Edge and Soul Shine Yoga studio for years, where she met many good friends.
On June 10, 1995, Judy married Peter Carroll at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She had a zest for life and had many close friends in her lifetime and a huge smile she was known for.
Judy is survived by her husband Peter Carroll of almost 30 years, her brother John Barone, Jr., sisters Sally and (Sam) Herrup, Susan and (Peter) Breen. She was also loved by her nieces and nephews, Dawn and (Tim) Young. Casey and (Greg) Mack, Patrick Breen and (Savannah), Emily Herrup, Abigail and (Christian) Green, Alex Barone, as well as great nieces and nephews, Casey, Jacqui, TJ, Liam Young, Aaron, Sam Mack and Anthony Barone.
Judy is predeceased by her father John (1993) and her mother Amy (2016) and her beloved dogs.
Special thanks to her brother John and sisters Sally and Sue who fought along side her in her tireless battle.
She will be deeply missed by her cousins, Carolyn Davis and Marie McKenzie; and her very special friends Robin, Kim, Lloyd and Burke.
Thanks also go to the South End Health Clinic, the Howard Center, the University of Vermont Medical Center and the University of Vermont Home Health and Hospice Network.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will e celebrated on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 11:00 am at Saint Mark Church on North Ave, Burlington.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ready Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
