Kenneth Francis Ortman

ORTMAN, Kenneth Francis left this life on May 5, 2022 at the age of 89. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Anna and his son Anthony (Toni). He is the proud and dear Grandpa to Dominic and Kenny, and happiest Great-Grandpa to Dominic Jr., who lit him up like the sun. In 2020 he lost his loving daughter Evelyn Abid (Anthony) far too early in life and sadly had to live with that grief until his end. He was born in Detroit and was a life long resident in the surrounding area. He served in the Korean War as a young man and went on to marry, work and raise his family in Warren, Michigan. He was a huge baseball fan, mostly rooting for the Detroit Tigers, but always happy to watch just about any teams compete in any sport. In better days he traveled to Hawaii, enjoyed going to Florida, Las Vegas and traveled all around Michigan during our beautiful summers. He like to be outside and close to the water. He really enjoyed a good steak (well-done!) with a baked potato and a cold drink, watching all sports on TV, going to the casino and playing cards or games with his family for an evening. He was a quiet guy, but an occasional zinger out of his mouth would crack everyone up. He will also be missed by many friends and neighbors. His illness toward the end saddened and changed us all but life is not about your ending, it is about your living.
