Mary Louise Bell, 93, of Jefferson City passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was born June 1, 1930 in Taos to the late Ilde and Christine (Wimmer) Rackers. While living in Jefferson City, Mary had worked at International Shoe Factory. On October 30, 1965, Mary was united in marriage to John Bell at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek.
Family meant everything to Mary. She loved family get-togethers, bar-b-ques, trips to Branson and visiting relatives during the holidays. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed babysitting for her nieces and nephews and later on for her grandnieces and grandnephews. She relaxed listening to Country music and took comfort in taking care of her pet Poodles and cats.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Rackers) Bracher of Tebbetts, nine nieces and nephews and extended family. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, three brothers, LeRoy, Arthur, Donald Rackers, one sister, Rosella Rackers, sister-in-law, Grace Rackers and brother-in-law, Darrell Bracher.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Tony Onyeike officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Catholic Cemetery, Loose Creek.
