Max K. Hamilton

Max K. Hamilton, 102, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Heart to Heart Hospice Inpatient. He was born February 17, 1920 in Carthage, MO to the late Chester and Daisy (Kunkler) Hamilton.
Max and his wife operated a wholesale retail clothing business in Lincoln, NE until they retired and then moved to Evansville. He was a member at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Max served in the United States Navy during World War II and was on a submarine. He lived independently at Solarbron Family-first Senior Living.
Max loved baseball and he saw Babe Ruth hit a home run when he was a young man. He also saw Mickey Mantle play minor league baseball in Joplin, Missouri. Max spoke to President Truman at his father-in-law's house when he was campaigning for the presidency. Max was blessed with good health and a lot of energy.
Max is survived by his son, Dr. Tom Hamilton and wife Nancy; four grandchildren, Crystal (Tracy) Bolt, Scott (Lisa) Hamilton, Linda Cox and Dr. Doug (Cheryl) Long; and eight great-grandchildren.
His special friends are Dawn Preist, Marvin and Barbara Pruett, and Jim and Bonnie Mason. Max developed many good friends at Solarbron.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Patty (Mealey) Hamilton.
There will be a burial service at a later date at Fasken Cemetery in Carthage, MO. Arrangements are being handled by Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
