Obituary of Robert John Arose
Robert Arose, 71, of Spring Lake Heights died on Wednesday April 10, 2024 in his home.
Bob was born in South Amboy and lived in East Brunswick until 2017 and moved to Spring Lake Heights. He graduated from East Brunswick High School in 1970. Bob received Bachelor in Science for Electrical Engineering Technologies from Middlesex County College and Trenton State College. During his career he worked for General Dynamics, Novartis.
Bob was a Navy veteran, and proud of his service. He was active duty during the Vietnam War (1972-1976) on the USS Oriskany. He was a naval reservist for 2 years after his active service.
Bob was a devoted son, brother, and uncle throughout his life. His family affectionally called him "Boo-boo." He enjoyed deep sea fishing and hiking vacations in the summer. Bob loved his summer vacations that would bring the family together. He was a regular walker at the Manasquan Reservoir. And in his free time Bob enjoyed tinkering with computers and electronics.
He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Irene Arose; brothers, Edward and James; and sister, Mary.
Bob is survived by sisters, Barbara and Susan; brother, Paul; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM with a memorial service to begin at 1:30 PM.
