Pauline M. Schmidt of Doylestown passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021. She was 91. Pauline was born in Manhattan, NY to Carmela and Pasquale Bencivenga. She is survived by her children, Robert Devaney (Barbara), Anne Perez (Barry), and Christopher Devaney, and grandchildren, Robert Devaney Jr. "Bobby", Christopher Perez, and Jessica Barry (Sean). Pauline is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Robert Devaney, and Joseph Schmidt. Pauline grew up in Brooklyn, attended Hunter College, majoring in history and education. She earned her Masters degree from Richmond College in Staten Island and was an elementary school teacher with the New York City Board of Education for over 25 years. She was a beloved kindergarten teacher, touching the lives of the all children she taught. In her retirement years, Pauline enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered by her extraordinary kindness and generosity. All of those who knew "Nona" loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to Pauline's Life Celebration on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM Wednesday. Interment will be held privately. The family has asked that those who are attending and have not yet been vaccinated to please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline's name may be sent to a charity of your choice. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting www.LeaverCable.com.
