He graduated from Wilbur Wright High School and attended the University of Dayton where he majored in journalism and played baseball. Darryl played first base for the Flyers and was best known for his power hitting. Darryl was the President of Darryl Dever Associates, recognized as one of the top lobbying firms in the State of Ohio for more than 30 years. Darryl was the former Director of Governmental Affairs for the Ohio Dental Association as well as the first President of the Ohio Lobbying Association. In addition to many career successes, Darryl was most proud of his children and grandson, the ever present car pool dad, and fan in the stands. Darryl was loved by countless friends and his big personality will be greatly missed. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Norman and nephews Deron Qvick and Chad Qvick. Doc was a larger-than-life person. His influence is like the waves generated from a single pebble in the ocean and we will never know all the good that Darryl generated in his work and with people from all walks of life. It was a privilege to know him and to learn about life from him, for as short a time I had with him. I and many, many people will miss Doc and many more will miss out on the good that he could generate from contention, debate, and ultimately consensus and solutions. my sympathy goes out to all who miss him like I do.
