Thomas F. Covelli, 65, of Union Twp., passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Tom was born November 25, 1960, in New Castle, a son of Michael and Berdina “Dina” (Mrozek) Covelli. After graduating from Union High School in 1979, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University.
For over 30 years, Tom worked at PA American Water Company, retiring as a line locator.
Tom was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle – St. Mary’s Church.
An avid golfer, he loved cheering for his favorite basketball team, the Philadelphia 76ers. Tom also enjoyed meeting friends at Parkstown Lounge, especially while watching a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
Tom was a devoted son, caring brother, and adoring uncle. He cherished his family and often visited his mother on a daily basis.
Tom is survived by his mother, Dina Covelli, of Union Twp.; two sisters, Joanne (Bob) Preston and Dianne (Randy) Scilla, all of Neshannock Twp.; a brother, Michael (Liane) Covelli, Jr., of Coconut Creek, FL; his beloved cousin, Michelee (Fritz) Curtze; three nephews; two nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Michael Covelli.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Union High School Athletics, 2106 Camden Ave., New Castle, PA 16101.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday (3-2-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday (3-3-26) for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit Parish – St. Mary’s Church, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle, with Rev. Aaron Kriss, as celebrant.
Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens, Neshannock Twp.
