Penny Spinks Obituary
Memorial service: A private service will be held at a later date. At her request, Penny will be cremated. Interment: Burleson Cemetery.
Penny was born Oct. 25, 1960. She graduated from Burleson High School in 1979. She attended nursing school in Corsicana, earning her LVN license and went on to practice nursing in hospitals and nursing homes and as a private nurse and care-giver. The following is a poem written to Penny by one of her patients.
Penny, and those worthy of her spirit:
"A strength like few I've ever known
Just one of many charms
For she can handle men full grown
Like babes in mothers arms
Her energy, so strong and true
Is passed to souls she serves
In ways that make each pulse renew
Its link with tender nerves.
But More, a strength of character
Encompasses her style
As task so much a part of her
Are done with a constant smile
And glowing face that brightens lives
That need her light so much
Each wish fulfilled as Penny strives
To give with every touch.
Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Gill.
Survivors: Her husband, Greg Spinks of Burleson; sons, Daniel Spinks of Burleson and David Spinks of Carrollton; father, Ted Gill and wife, Darlene, of Crockett; aunt, Judy Wynn of Bedford; and great-aunt, Aubrey Russell of Burleson.

Dear Greg and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Penny. I haven't seen her since high school, but had alot of fun with her back in the day. I have thought of her often over the years and wondered where she was and what happened to her. I had no idea that you two were married. I wish I had known before now.

Greg, Daniel and David.
My name is Jean Clark, My dad was J.N. Wynne, Sue and Judy are my first cousin's .
I met each of you years ago and talked with Penny on the phone ofter when she was careing for her mom .We exchanged letters during that time . I had come to love and understand her during that short time. She was a special lady and a fellow nurse. Thanks for sharing that wonderful poem. She's in her loving fathers arms now . May your memories comfort you.
