Dennis R. Cron

Cron Dennis R. Cron, age 65, of Lithopolis, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Altercare in Canal Winchester. Born December 2, 1948 in Evansville, IN to the late Hubert R. and Ruth E. (Schutte) Cron, he was a graduate of Reitz Memorial Catholic High School in Evansville, and attended the University of Evansville and later Franklin University. He served in the U.S. Air Force, served his community as mayor of Lithopolis for 16 years, and was a member of the Lithopolis Village Council prior to that. He was the owner of Bone Dry Waterproofing, and attended St. John XXIII Catholic Church. He enjoyed boating, traveling, fishing, golfing, and driving the back roads to find great places to eat. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Jeanne Cron; sons, Chad M. (Robyn) Cron, Cincinnati, Todd M. (Melissa) Cron, Minford; grandchildren, Caitlin, Claire and Liam Cron, Mychal, Taylor and Tyce Cron; siblings, Tony (Debby) Cron, Glenn (Nick) Cron, Bettye (Greg) Martyn, Fred (Pat) Cron, Jeff (Patty) Cron; brothers-in-law, Bruce Barden and Alan Barden; sister-in-law, Linda Barden; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 5170 Winchester Southern Rd., Canal Winchester, with the Rev. Msgr. A. Anthony Frecker, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
