John became owner-operator of Motorways Freight Systems and drove all over the country. John formed the mounted posse for Franklin County. He also worked as an Auxiliary Deputy when he moved to Pickerington where he worked for the Pickerington Police Department and trained several young officers. He was always willing to help his neighbors wherever he resided. He loved his family and sacrificed much for them. He went peacefully with Bunny beside him and Jesus holding his hand. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at the North Campus of Fairfield Christian Church, 3420 Blacklick Eastern Rd., on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Leonard Tippie officiating. To Amy, Bunny and all the Rickenbackers and their families, my sincere condolences on the loss of John. I have many vivid memories of our times together in the neighborhood we grew up in...the cookouts, block parties, pool parties and parades. It was sad John was in so much pain towards the end of his life and may he now rest in peace. My prayers to all of the family.

I would like to express my condolences to the Rickenbacker family. Losing a fellow Law Enforcement Officer means that a small part of us goes with him. I thank him for his years of service and his assistance in training new officers. God Bless this family and keep them safe.
