Halstead, 67, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in the Kirkersville Chapel of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Mary Raysa as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the time of the services, at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville. Lynnette died early Thursday, April 15, 2021, at her home in Buckeye Lake. She was born October 10, 1953 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of the late Richard F. and Marilyn J. (Nelson) Halstead. She was a graduate of Whetstone H.S., class of 1971, The Ohio State University College of Nursing with both her B.S.N. and her M.S.N. degrees. She spent her nursing career at the Ohio State University Hospitals, in various roles but seemed to most enjoy her work in the Emergency Department, and as Trauma Coordinator, along with Life Flight. A skilled photographer, she enjoyed taking photos and posting them to Facebook with inspirational quotes on a daily basis. She loved boating on Buckeye Lake, Bar Hopping, Traveling, Line Dancing, Beach time in Florida, and was known for her Broccoli Salad. She was a voracious reader, and was unwavering in her support for the Buckeye Lake Library; as well as the Buckeye Lake Historical Society. She was well admired for her Dog Sitting abilities. She is survived by her family: wife, Alice Wing, whom she married on February 14, 2014; her siblings, Steve Halstead, Jolene (Sam) Mierzejewski, Scott Halstead; her niece, Bailey (Joseph) Francis; along with many personal friends. The family prefers that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions, be directed to the Buckeye Lake Library, 4455 Walnut Rd, Buckeye Lake, OH 43008. Due to COVID 19, please wear masks and practice social distancing at all times in the funeral home. I was so sorry to hear about Lynnette’s passing. She was like big sister to me when I was just in grade school. Our fathers were best friends in high school and we would often do family trips together. We bonded and agreed to be pen pals. We wrote to each other for several years until we lost touch. Then a few years ago we found each other on Facebook. I so enjoyed seeing her inspirational posts. I am so grateful she was a part of my life for much of my growing up years. It was nice to have a friend in my corner. Thanks Lynnette for being my friend.❤
