I am late to offer this condolence, as I now live in Florida and just learned of Keith's passing in a KU Law email. But I remember Keith well--and with great warmth and respect. When I was a rookie law professor over 40 years ago, Keith was a student in my appellate advocacy class (the first and only time I taught that course). He was a polished speaker and put lots of intellect into his words--but more importantly, he was a good and decent young man, and I truly enjoyed getting to know him. After four decades in legal education, I've encountered many thousands of students--and the names of many, I'm sorry to say, I don't recall. But I remember Keith, and do so fondly, and thus today I express my profound sympathy to his family.

Keith was a great friend and teammate at school and on the football field or basketball court on Sunday afternoons. His positive spirit inspired everyone around him to reach for the stars.
And yes, he was the monsterback.

Keith was about the nicest guy and finest friend, with a genuine gift for insightfulness. He gave the best oration that I ever heard, winning the national qualifying tourney, and championed his team to its first state debate title. Big enough dreams to last a lifetime. Godspeed always, Mark Buchanan

I met Keith on the Lacrosse field as a fellow St. Thomas Aquinas parent. It was not long before I was running into him often at debate tournaments and at the KU studios, as he used his charm to convince us to participate in both. I have to admit that I marveled at the enormous ledger he used in executing his expert debate judging skills. He was one of the kindest and most generous people I have known. He was also as dapper as a man could be. My particular favorite was the sweater he wore that made him appear as a seasoned British Cricket player. :) I promise to carry on a worthy tradition we both upheld of unabashedly wearing bowties, braces and saddle oxfords in public; I will remember you every time I do. Rest easy Keith.

Many years ago Keith assisted me with a case before the Kansas Court of Appeals. Not having handled many of these, he provided guidance, briefing assistance and helped me practice oral arguments. To top it all off, he also attended my oral argument before the Court. All this without asking or wanting compensation. Not even accepting Royals tickets. Keith truly was a God send. Because of him, I ultimately prevailed in my case. May God take care of him. He was a good guy!

Keith was well respected as a debate and forensic teammate at Washington and as a competitor when many of us were moved to Schlagle. Like so many from those teams, he became a leader. RIP. Condolences to Jan and the Sevedge families

Sending sympathy from the Swager family. Carol Lee passed away in August. She would have been so sad to hear about this. What a life he lived. And what a comfort those memories must be...

Bob and I are so sorry to learn this sad news. There never was a man with a more self effacing, clever sense of humor.
May he rest in peace and help the angels and saints watch over the rest of us.

I´ll be missing my friend of almost 50 years. Many years ago he finally convinced me "Elton John was going to be a Superstar" - exactly what Keith will always be to me.
