Dennis Wolfe Obituary

Dennis Robert Wolfe passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022 in Atlanta, GA. He was born July 8, 1955 in Bethlehem to Joseph M. and Marie M. (Weber) Wolfe. A graduate of Liberty High School, Dennis received his bachelors degree from Penn State University. Growing up he was a member of Bethany UCC, Bethlehem and was currently a member of Central Congregational UCC, Atlanta. He was an accountant, first for the U.S. Department of Agriculture/U.S. Forest Service and retired from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2018. During retirement, he and his wife, Beth, made numerous trips out west to many National Parks and Monuments. He especially loved going to Big Bend N.P. to enjoy seeing the Milky Way and constellations. He was proud to be a "National Park Junkie" and Route 66 fan. Dennis was involved with many activities around sports teams in Atlanta including the Atlanta United, Thrashers and Gladiators Hockey, Gwinnett Stripers, Georgia State Football, and SCCA. He was also a US Soccer (both men's and women's) and Manchester United fan. He made numerous friends around these activities. He was still a Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles fan. Dennis was a member of the Button Gwinnett Chapter/Sons of the American Revolution. He was much loved and will be terribly missed not only by his family but by all who knew him.

Dennis is preceded by his father, Joseph M., and survived by his mother, Marie W. Wolfe, his wife, Elizabeth A. (Bryan)Wolfe, a sister, Marcie A., and a daughter, Caroline M. (Carrie), along with numerous cousins and relatives. A memorial service will take place Saturday on May 7 at 11 a.m in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem, followed by interment in Bethlehem Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Leukemia And Lymphoma Society. Condolences may be placed at pearsonfh.com

I will always remember driving down to Georgia with two of my friends to see Dennis and meeting for breakfast the next morning before driving to Talladega, AL for the NASCAR race. We all had the best time together! I also will always remember Dennis´ great sense of humor and him always joking around with everyone and teasing me when I was growing up.

I´m so sorry to hear of Dennis´ passing. I was in Budget on the National Forests in Alabama in Montgomery, AL before retiring and worked with Dennis for many years. I have fond memories of him. He was always willing to help those who needed him and his brilliant expertise. God bless you all.

My condolences to the Wolfe Family. Dennis was a nice and funny guy. He held down the fort here at the CDC. His retirement was long overdue, but we missed having him around. The last time I saw him he spoke about how retirement was treating him well and he was happy. I will always have that happy image of him imprinted in my mind. I also had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife, Mrs. Wolfe. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Marie, Marcie, Beth, and Carrie, It is with deepest sympathy that the entire Pacala family share in the sorrow of the passing of Dennis. As neighbors we had many good times together playing and later we reconnected on Facebook and had shared wonderful stories of our lives. May you each find peace and comfort in the days ahead and may Dennis rest in peace from his long battle with cancer. Tina

I didn't work with Dennis as closely as others in the Budget department but he was a very nice guy. My greatest memory of him is that during the Halloween season when we would all dress up, he would always break out the lion suit and we knew it was him just by the way he sauntered through the halls. Such great times and memories. My condolences to his family and friends.
